Abstract :
This paper shares the experiences on channeling research into undergraduate education at the University of Alberta. The experiences can be classified into three broad types: 1) enriched curriculum contents by incorporating research findings into classroom teaching, 2) research-oriented project courses by inviting students to develop research prototypes or participate in field measurements, and 3) increased power & energy faculty members through a research chair program sponsored by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). This paper illustrates each of these experiences.
