Abstract :
A novel low-cost drive with a single-phase induction machine for HVAC applications that require adjustable-speed operation is proposed. An experimental drive based on the proposed setup has been developed and built to verify its practical viability and properties. The paper presents results of investigation obtained by means of numerical simulations as well as experiments and discusses the properties and characteristics of the drive
