Abstract :
A new vehicle detection algorithm for high resolution images is proposed in this paper. The new method is based on intensity curve of images. It can detect the presence of vehicles via different intensity curve characters between moving objects and background. Our approach is a real-time detection algorithm. It outperforms the existing traditional algorithms, such as mixture Gaussian background model and Bayes background model. The experimental result for 20-minutes high resolution video shows that our algorithms accuracy is up to 98%.
