Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a new implementation of the multi-tenant database system which combines the relational model and tree structured storage (as in the hierarchical database system) in order to improve the efficiency and lower the storage cost. Translation layer is also designed as a “middleware” to serve as the linkage between the high level logic view and low level physical view of the DBMS. Meanwhile, the system maintains the characteristics and functionality of the multi-tenant database system, thus proves itself to be a more powerful tool in the cloud-storage dominant background.
