Abstract
Dominant color descriptor(DCD) is one of the color descriptors defined in MPEG-7. It is always used for image classification, but its performance is greatly limited by the lack of spatial color distribution information and the color accuracy problem. In this paper, a new representative color extraction algorithm based on MPEG-7, and an improved graph representation method based on graph edit distance are outlined. The experimental results have showed that these improvements are effective.
