Abstract :
The present study is based on the certain air cooled direct injection diesel engine to investigate the combustion characteristic, emission and fuel consumption when the certain diesel engine is fuelled with different ratio of biodiesel. The experiment results show that compare with diesel fuel, the ignition delay time and combustion duration are shortened with the higher combustion speed and cylinder pressure when using biodiesel, which improve the heat efficiency, reduce CO, HC, Smoke emission, however, NOx increases if the diesel engine output power is not changed. The NOx can be improved by the injection timing changed to achieve an optimal integrated emission.
