Abstract
Outage probability due to interference and spectrum efficiency for microcellular mobile radio systems are evaluated: a Rician channel for the useful signal and a Rayleigh channel for the interferers are considered; a Monte-Carlo simulation method to evaluate the effects of correlated shadowing is applied. The influence of the correlation coefficients between the signals is analysed. Traffic distribution is also taken into account by means of a Monte-Carlo method; the evaluation is carried out both for the downlink and the uplink. Moreover, both frequency division duplex and time division duplex techniques are investigated to determine their impact on outage probability
