Abstract :
Describes a marriage of techniques from the fields of text generation and intelligent help systems research designed to construct responses dynamically. The work exploits schema of rhetorical predicates to guide the generation process, introducing a novel, object-oriented architecture for text generation. Particular emphasis is given to the definition of rhetorical predicates in terms of the underlying knowledge base. A generation algorithm is proposed which exploits both data structuring and control aspects of object-oriented languages
