Abstract :
A transient stability on-line forecasting algorithm, based on PMU measurements and EMS models, is proposed in this paper. This algorithm makes full use of both fast speed of PMU measurements and detailed models of EMS, which could deal with the situations with single fault or cascading faults. Several main factors that affect the accuracy of the forecasting algorithm are studied, and a binary search method is presented to decrease the errors caused by different sampling types. The proposed algorithm is tested on IEEE 39-Bus system. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed algorithm.
