Abstract
Passive testing is process of detecting faults in a system under test by passively observing its input/output behaviors without interrupting its normal operations. In this paper we apply our passive testing algorithm to the TCP protocol. Experimental results show that it has a high transition coverage compared with interoperability testing experiments. Detailed analysis of the experiments is presented and shows a possible way of combining passive testing and active testing.
