Abstract
The overall increase in traffic on the Internet is augmenting scheduling performance from the traditional network, especially in conjunction with heterogeneous, scattered and geographically distributed resources spreading in multiple administrative domains. This article will focus on grid scheduling system architectures that consist of multiple resources distributed on various management areas, with one especial mechanism to assign adequate resource and schedule user´s jobs among administrative domains. Moreover, it classifies and describes main mechanisms to allocate grid resources dynamically and execute job scheduling across different areas, discussing both the alternative architectures and the resource sharing policies. It also identifies some of open research issues associated with the use of current grid scheduling system.
