Abstract :
The paper concentrates on studying the stability of a power system in the same way as for a multivariable system. The classical transient stability study is based on the application of a three phase fault, then the state variables move away from the equilibrium point. The system stability is analyzed using the characteristic-locus method at a critical clearing time. The simulation results are on the IEEE 5 and EPRI 16 bus test systems.
