Abstract :
The problem of designing a robust controller for a helicopter is considered. Some deficiencies of the H∞ standard optimization are underlined, such as pole/zero cancellations which yield unsatisfactory results because the system has complex modes near the jω-axis. This phenomenon can be circumvented by using a loop shaping procedure followed by a normalized coprime factor robust stabilization
