Abstract :
In this paper, a novel narrowband interference estimation algorithm is proposed for Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) wideband receiver, based on periodogram power spectral density functions. Besides the well known methods based on cyclic prefix or maximum search in the spectrum, the proposed method uses periodogram power spectral density functions without any pilot symbols or preamble. In order to show the performance of the proposed method, all simulation are applied to the Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB/DAB+) system and are investigated with respect to different signal to interference ratios (SIR). The presented procedure shows a better performance compared to the state of the art narrowband interferer estimation procedures.
