Abstract
This paper describes a methodology of 7.742 GHz beacon signal processing in a design of a ManPack SatCom terminal with a low figure of merit of 6 dB/K and the requirement of compact and lightweight characteristics. In the proposed approach to the implementation, the use of DSP techniques allows both the beacon signal and the received communication signals to be processed along the same RF/IF path and DSP hardware, making this a unique one, which result in a larger dynamic range than is obtained by conventional beacon receivers and realizing more compact and lightweight terminal
