Abstract
In this paper, a near-field high resolution direction and range estimation approach is proposed, which combines common near-field dynamic focusing beamformer with high-order cumulant based TLS-ESPRIT like high resolution algorithm to estimate the direction and range information of near-field sources. Under the condition of unknown source number, the distribution of eigen values around unit circle is used to eliminate the ´false´ sources severely influenced by noise, and estimate direction and range information of unknown sources simultaneously. This algorithm has steady performance, which ensures the high resolution ability of multi-beam bathymetry system for the near- field sources.
