  • Abstract
    It is shown that the conventional aperture theory formulation is mathematically incorrect and that in many standard textbooks image theory is incorrectly applied to equivalent sources in aperture problems. A rigorous new formulation is derived which yields exact results if the aperture fields are known exactly
