Abstract
An automatic control procedure for hydraulic plants in series which not only avoids a continuous human presence in the power plants, but also makes it possible to obtain improved performance in the operating system, is described. The algorithms and the determination of control parameters employ improved software codes which make it possible to optimize the control system for a wide range of operating regimes and flow rates, so stability and security are enhanced. The realization of such centralized control stations allows not only the rationalization and optimization of water management at the level of a cascade of power plants, but also the easing of operating critical conditions as floods control
