Abstract :
In recent years, electrical discharge plasmas have been used as effective methods for treating water having environmental pollutants. Some researchers reported that the species which have high oxidation potential, such as OH radical, O radical, O3 and etc., are produced by pulsed discharge plasmas generated in water or water surface. Therefore, the effective treatment of the polluted water can be expected by the species. Previously, the degradation of phenol by nano-seconds (ns) pulsed discharge on the surface of solution has been studied in our laboratory [1]. The result was positive in many methods. In the work, the ns pulsed discharge was generated under the wastewater shower. The system aim to be more effective treatment than ns pulsed discharge on the treated water surface. In the experiment, the ns pulse generator which has pulse duration of 5 ns was used and it decomposed acetic acid, sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate, and PFOS in an aqueous solution. In the presentation, the effects of the applied voltage, and the feeding gas composition in the reactor on the treatment of the pollutants would be reported.
