Abstract :
In cellular mobile CDMA systems, minimizing the mobile transmit power, subject to maintaining the link quality, is a challenging task. Power control is one of the most important processes as the interference is the predominant factor that influences the capacity and signal to interference noise ratio (SINR) in cellular CDMA networks. In this paper, we propose an integrated pilot power based power control (PPBPC) algorithm which is simple and decentralized, uses transmit power control and adapts cell sizes for load distribution. We show that uniform SINR is achieved for all users in each cell if it is feasible and it occurs when the algorithm converges while loads are nearly balanced.
