Abstract :
The paper illustrates the main techniques adopted to shield the electromagnetic field (EMF) of HV insulated lines. Conductor management, passive loops and ferromagnetic raceways are here described, with details on performances and installation procedures. A careful cost-benefit analysis shows that magnetic fields mitigation can be a simple and effective solution to achieve the required Shielding Factor (SF), where restrictions on EMF are requested, exploiting a consolidated technology.
