Abstract :
We have studied an algorithm for a Doppler sonar for achieving high-resolution measurement of the velocity of a vessel using the Doppler shift in frequency. This paper proposes a new algorithm for achieving high-resolution velocity measurement by calculating a representative sample value of Doppler shift components derived from return echoes of each burst wave, calculating the fast Fourier transforms of data obtained as a collection of multiple representative sample values corresponding to a plurality of burst waves, and combining Doppler-shifted frequencies to be obtained.
