Abstract :
This paper discusses the research and development of localized UHVDC Breaker. Taking the typical UHVDC transmission system as example, operation condition of breakers for different purpose and operating principle are introduced. The breaking current ability of localized UHVDC Breaker would be beyond 5kA, writer mainly analyzed parameter optimization of emulations, the design of test circuit and the full load test. The test results show quite a few coincidences with emulation and calculation.
