Abstract
The main issue of updating virtual composite objects concerns their identification. The paper presents a method of implementing views focusing on how materialization techniques can be used to provide a solution for maintaining identities for virtual composite objects in order to be unambiguously updated. The proposition includes a set-oriented language for updating virtual objects enhancing view capabilities in order to be used as a uniform framework for querying and updating a database.
