  • Abstract
    The authors present a computer-aided prototyping system which they have developed to allow the designer to deal directly with the specific nature of a problem, rather than its implementation. This approach is extended to the development of software for instrumentation with expert characteristics. For this purpose, the authors consider strategies which deal with uncertainty management. They have chosen the fuzzy-logic approach since it is a well established methodology and a lot of fuzzy-system applications have already been developed for instrumentation and control
