Abstract
Performance animation is becoming an appealing solution for character control. With the development of lightweight computing devices, low-cost and portable user interface is required and preferable in entertainment. This paper proposes a performative user interface that allows the user to control the character using his or her body. This interface only employs two IR cameras and a few IR leds, which will be used to track and estimate the positions. And positions can be used to synthesize the puppetry´s final pose using an improved geostatistical interpolation model. The cost of computation of this model is inexpensive and it utilizes only a few motion samples and achieves some generality beyond the motion database.
