Abstract :
The authors describe a project to improve temperature-frequency stability, power consumption, and warm-up time of direct heated resonator-thermostats. The design of the resonator on the basis of 10-MHz SC-cut plate employs direct and indirect heating of the plate. A mathematical model of the transient processes is presented. The resonator is shown to have a warm-up time of less than 15 s, a frequency vs. temperature stability of better than 3×10-8, and a heating current of about 5 mA
