Abstract :
The advanced assets management and reliability are two important necessity to establish modern smart grids. Playing a vital role, transformers life extension directly increase system reliability and profitability. In this paper we evaluate fault current limiters influence on tensions ensue from external short-circuit currents. We use a mathematical model for fault current limiter, and exploit it in the bench mark network to compare tensions whether fault current limiter exist or not. The tensions considered in two axial and radial components. The simulation results illustrate a significant decrease in tensions and their destructive effects at both components.
