Abstract :
Simulation is the only way to understand the behavior of vehicle dynamics in advance, to either achieve/evaluate the required functionality or to tune the parameters to meet the required industry standards. Due to lack of information, the complexity of the simulation grows exponential as the degree of freedom is increasing exponentially. Even if information made available, proper combination of simulation tools with Real-time capability is always a challenge. The Real time simulation using Hardware-in-Loop (HiL) technology brings in the closed loop simulation of complex dynamic systems along with the real time capability. This paper deals with the usage of AVL-CRUISE with CarMaker running in Real-time environment of ETAS Labcar for the analysis of such complicated vehicle systems. This proposal enhances the realization of Road-to-Lab concept to even closer to reality. The proposed HiL testing not only reduces the development time and cost, it further removes the possibility of endangering lives by removing the on-road potentially damaging conditions.
