Abstract :
Based on the coding/multiplexing scenario specified for W-CDMA FDD (wideband-code division multiple access, frequency division duplex), CRC (cyclic redundancy check)-aided early stopping method is chosen for hardware implementation of the Log-MAP (logarithm-maximum a posteriori) turbo decoder for use in W-CDMA Node B. Modifications to decoder structure for efficient incorporation of the CRC-aided method are proposed. With negligible cost and no performance degradation, our modified decoder works more efficiently.
