  • Abstract
This paper presents an Enhanced Slotted 1-Persistence protocol that efficiently deals with broadcast a message in dense vehicular networks. The goal of this study is to develop a protocol which improves the delivery ratio of warning messages with low end-to-end delay in high density networks while using the network bandwidth efficiently. In order to deal with data dissemination under various network densities, a modified dissemination protocol prevents the broadcast storm and synchronization problems. The simulation results show that the E1PD protocol achieved a higher delivery ratio compared to S1PD in low vehicle traffic density. Furthermore, E1PD presented lower end-to-end delay in diverse density network conditions, while efficiently using the bandwidth of the wireless network compared to O1PD protocol.
