Abstract :
When ship is moving slowly or at zero speed, fin stabilizers can´t work effectively to generate the roll-reducing forces. Anti-roll tank is the only option to reduce ship roll at zero speed for many years. Now, a kind of anti-roll system based on Weis-Fogh mechanism theory can reduce ship roll at zero speed. This paper analyzes the lift of the anti-roll system using hydrodynamics of the Weis-Fogh mechanism and builds a lift model of the anti-roll system at zero speed. From the simulating results, it can be seen that the anti-roll system can generate lift when the anti-roll system works in special way at zero speed
