  • Abstract
    A general approach for computing the inductance of the via hole is given. The [L] matrix calculation is performed with the potential vector given in its integral form, taking into account the current density distribution (J) in the conductor. The partial element equivalent circuit (PEEC) method is used for this calculation. An analytical formula easy to use in CAD is proposed to calculate this inductance. These results are compared with measurements performed in the frequency range of 1-30 GHz.
