Abstract :
This paper describes a new approach that generates a higher resolution curved surface of an object from fewer three-dimensional (3D) measurement points compared with conventional approaches. In computer graphics (CG) field, an object is often expressed as the cluster of the polygons, which are converted from the 3D position data. However, if the 3D position data of an object is small in number, it is difficult to accurately reconstruct the object. In this paper, we propose a new approach of reconstruction of an object using both the position data and the orientation data. The advantage of this approach is to accurately reconstruct with a small number of the 3D position data compared with the conventional approach. The main idea of this approach is both to introduce the orientation data of an object and to use Hermite interpolation for accurate reconstruction of the object
