Abstract
ECG signals are used to diagnose heart disease with exercise stress testing, no risk method. The mathematical models are used to compress data of ECG signals for storage and transmission. And parameters obtained from compression can be used to reconstruct an ECG signal which is without clinical information loss for diagnosis later. In this paper the multiquadric interpolation method (MQ) is proposed to compress the ECG signals. The compression ratio of the reconstructed signals is about 7 and the percent root mean square difference (PRD) is about 6 percent.
