Abstract :
The potential use of a time-modulated linear array as an adaptive antenna in a communication system is introduced. The system utilises the property that a simple sequential time sequence can be applied to the elements of a time-modulated array to generate multiple main beams at different harmonic frequencies and at prescribed angular directions. The background theory behind the system is described and numerical simulations are presented for a simple four element array to examine the bit error rate performance of the system.
