Abstract
In the thirty years since the introduction of prefabricated cable accessories, advancements in materials science have produced the familiar push-on, heat shrink, and cold shrink splices. Further advancements in materials science technology have produced an insulation material that pushes the state-of-the-art of prefabricated cable accessories to a new level. This paper discusses a new sealing and insulating material and its unique properties that lead to a simple, time saving, wraparound designs for power cable application.
