Abstract :
This paper introduces ISIS as an application for iBurst™, a Mobile Broadband Wireless Access technology classified under the IEEE 802.20 standard. A study conducted on the behaviour and propagation characteristics of an iBurst™ network in the Belfast Metropolitan Area is discussed in this paper. The measurement of iBurst™ is compared with the performance of traditional large scale prediction models such as the Okumura model and the COST-231 model. The predictions of the Okumura and COST-231 models were generated using Matlab™. The performance of these models against measured iBurst™ data is outlined in this paper.
