Abstract :
A 4-b slice microprocessor 2901 in two different versions (CMOS and BiCMOS) has been constructed using SGS-Thomson 1.2-μm BiCMOS technology. The differences between the CMOS and BiCMOS versions are the RAM with BiCMOS memory cell and the carry propagation circuit, which is designed and fabricated in MCSL merged CMOS/bipolar current switch logic. The circuit choices for the arithmetic logic unit (ALU) and RAM improve clock frequency
