Abstract :
One of the research topics in holography is CGH (computer-generated hologram) that generates hologram by calculation. In CGH, 3-D objects were historically described by aggregate of point light sources. However, some methods are recently developed, in which 3-D objects are described by other ways in order to reconstruct more realistic or artistic 3-D objects. We introduce a study for the topic. In this study, 3-D objects are described by aggregate of surfaces, and they are illuminated by both a point light source and ambient light sources. This study uses the rendering technology in computer graphics directly in addition to the wave propagation. The size of hologram is 8K4K (7680×4320) pixels. Experimental system uses rewritable SLM(spatial light modulator), which means it reconstructs dynamic 3-D objects. Experimental results show the approach in this study reconstruct 3-D objects in response to the position of a point light source.
