Abstract
A waterborne GPR survey consisting of 50 profiles with a total length of about 37 km has been executed on the morainic lake of Candia northerly Turin (Italy). The survey tested the capability of GPR in shallow low-conductive waters to estimate bathymetry, water volume, bottom sediment type, bedding and porosity. Spotty measurements of electrical conductivity and temperature allowed for a better processing of GPR raw data. The results seem to confirm the effectiveness of GPR to give useful information providing suitable geometrical (water depth) and physical (water conductivity) conditions.
