Abstract :
This paper proposes a novel TE10-TE30 mode transducer using a right-angled H-plane waveguide corner composed of an over-moded waveguide (OMWG) and a single-mode waveguide (SMWG). The proposed transducer realizes an input matching for a dominant TE10 mode and undesired mode suppression by inserting some metallic posts around a right-angled corner. As a result of optimizing its circuit parameters, the relative bandwidth of about 5.8 % for return loss and suppression of undesired modes better than 20dB can be obtained. The proposed TE10-TE30 mode transducer can be analyzed by the H-plane planar circuit approach, and the validity of the design concept is confirmed by em-simulations.
