Abstract :
The delay and throughput performance of automatic-repeat-request (ARQ) error-control schemes is investigated for station messages which use their allocated time-division multiple access (TDMA) slots when acknowledgments (ACKs) are received by each station during the same frame. Such ACKs are transmitted using the allocated TDMA slots or the secondary-access procedure, with the ACK message granted high priority. Both block and select-and-repeat schemes are analyzed. Results for the generating function of the station´s queue-size distribution are derived, along with simple and tight upper and lower bounds on the station mean queue size and mean message delay
