Abstract :
A bent bow-tie antenna using for pulse operating in sub-millimeter waveband is presented in this paper, and this antenna is more suitable for the loading of lossy material to inhibit tailing effect. Comparison of characters between conventional bow-tie antenna and two bent bow-tie antenna are carried out first, and the numerical results show that the modified bent bow-tie antenna can be used for pulse application in sub-millimeter wave region. The time domain characters of the modified bent bow-tie antenna are studied, including radiation waveforms, propagation waveforms along the main radiate direction and the received signal waveforms. And the comparison of received signals between modified bent bow-tie antenna with lossy materials and without lossy materials is researched, results show that antenna with absorbing material loaded has a lower tailing effect than antenna without loading.
