Abstract :
Proceeding from the theoretical notions on the mechanisms of interactions between the object and electromagnetic radiation a physical model of a radio absorbing material (RAM) has been developed based on composite thermoplastics. Novel sheet, profile and fibrous non-woven RAM have been manufactured by the original techniques. Radiophysical characteristics and the scattering cross-section of the materials have been estimated in the waveguides and anechoic chamber under a 2 till 27 GHz frequency range. Thermophysical and mechanical parameters of the materials including their heat conductivity, heat-resistance, impact elasticity, breaking stress at tension and other parameters were determined, and their relaxation spectra were obtained. Recommendations are given for application of RAM as elements of protecting clothes, structures for electromagnetic sealing of buildings, masking coatings and components of microwave systems.
