Abstract :
To overcome the drawback and limitation of the traditional vehicle detector in the electronic police system, this paper proposes a novel video detection method by improving the inter-frame difference method and combining the amount of pixels and the position of the centroid in foreground image to detect vehicle in complex situation. The proposed method can reduce the redundant information of video and has the lower computational complexity. Moreover, it can also capture the vehicles violating traffic laws and regulations effectively, and improve real-time.
