The design and implementation of VDEA

Under the guide of the valence theory, based on some relevant dictionaries and sources on the internet, the Valency-based Dictionary of English Adjective (VDEA) can probably used to solve some problems appeared in the aspect of automatic processing between English and Chinese. Besides, the dictionary can supply semantic information for syntactic analysis. The paper introduces the design, implementation of VDEA, and also discusses the possible applications in different fields. This dictionary that focuses mainly on the study of semantic information of English adjectives will count both in teaching the Valence Grammar and NLP.
