Abstract :
A hemispherical helical antenna that is radiating in the presence of a conformal parasitic wire has been studied. The attained results demonstrate that the 3 dB axial ratio (AR) bandwidth can be increased by ~100% for an optimized length and position of the parasitic wire. The analysis has been implemented using the method of moments (MoM), and the results have been compared with simulations using a commercial software package with good agreement.
