Abstract
This paper aimed at the situation that the backbone network of modern telecom was using advanced SDH technology and standard mainstream products, meanwhile the edge of the access network was using traditional PDH technology and products, then a problem which was the coexistence of PDH and SDH technology in same network was produced. Now how to solve the intelligent management of edge devices in PDH network has become an important research topic to access network security management. Through VxWorks real-time operating system platform and "host - target" embedded cross-compiler development environment, using tornado as software development tool, the design and development of PDH network management software had been achieved in this paper. The running test results of software system proved that the system could realize intelligent management of edge devices in PDH network.
