Abstract :
This article describes development of the hardware-software system for monitoring of changes in central blood pressure by noninvasive methods. The main feature of the design is a replacement of standard method of measuring arterial pressure by cuff, fixed on forearm, with a special algorithm, which calculates arterial pressure from pulse wave velocity signal. Optical sensor is used for the recording of pulse wave signal (dual channel photopletismographic system). ECG signal, taken from wrists, is used as a reference point to increase the accuracy of calculations.
